About Us Why I chose Paul…. Paul is an amazing husband! His gift of making everyone comfortable and loved is one of a kind. Paul always has a smile and a joke to lighten difficult days. Above all, Paul is a child at heart. He has a great ability to connect with children at any age. He loves to play catch, hide and seek, and jump on the trampoline. Our nieces and nephews flock to Uncle Paul. He cherishes being their playmate. My heart skips a beat when I see the gentleness in him when he rocks and cuddles a newborn. Paul cannot wait to share his childhood books, legos, and matchbox cars with our child! Why I chose Jessica… Jessica is the most beautiful person that I have ever known. From her smile that can light up any room to her gentle nature she is truly unique. Children are her life. There is no one else that I would choose to be the mother of my children. Jessica has spent most of her life working with sick children, the only way she could help children more is in caring for someone who needs her on a permanent basis. Decorating for Christmas or taking them to the zoo, I just know she would be the best mommy! Our families Paul has a very close family with 15 nieces and nephews. Adoption is not new to his family. Paul’s uncle and aunt have adopted two children and are supportive of our decision. Jessica’s family lives within minutes and we visit them frequently. Her mom, sister and friend are excited to baby-sit and Jessica’s nephew is really looking forward to a playmate! Our pets are an important part of our family as well. Oscar is our very playful puppy, Pebbles is our curious cat, and Mr. Bird is our talkative blue-front Amazon who always has a great tune and the last word. Our Careers Jessica just finished her masters in nursing and is currently looking for a part-time job as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Paul works for the government and has a flexible work schedule enabling us to stay home with the baby for the first few months. After that, trusted family and friends will help care for our child when necessary. Our home We live in Avon, Indiana, a small town 5 miles west of Indianapolis. Our house is on a quiet street within walking distance of wonderful elementary and middle schools. Nearby parks have great sledding hills and hiking trails. Our neighborhood is very family oriented. We are looking forward to spending time in our backyard playing football games, catch, and enjoying summer cookouts on the deck. Our child is sure to love the Children’s Museum and Zoo in downtown Indianapolis! Religion We are both Catholic, attended Catholic schools growing up, and are active with our local church. We have a deep faith and plan to share it with our child. Our Interests Our interests include movies in front of the fireplace, visiting friends and family, vacationing, and attending sporting events. We are excited to include our baby in walks around the neighborhood with Oscar. Jessica loves to decorate and has made the baby’s bedding with her mom. Paul enjoys history, sports, and creative work with his hands and has already painted the nursery. Our friends and family are very excited about our decision to adopt! We cannot wait to share all of this love and encouragement with our child. We are eagerly awaiting the day to welcome a child into our home and hearts.
